So I haven’t posted anything in a while, and I’m kinda sad about this personally. Nothing really worth writing about has happened aside from a few smaller things recently. Revix has been taking a bit of a nap as of late while I’ve been messing around with a few alts. If any of you know about the Recruit-A-Friend promotion Blizzard is offering you’ll know what I’m talking about,  but here’s a brief summary:

This promotion is used to help get a friend leveled up quickly to play with you. It does this by granting you 300% of your normal xp rewards from quests and mob kills.

I used this promotion by recruiting a friend of mine (AKA me) to come play with me. First I had to decided what classes would be leveled. I’ve always wanted a warlock, so that’s a given. Hmmmm, something should heal it to make the process go a little smoother, a Pally! Don’t have one of those. So I started the lock and pally duo and just doing the first quest in the human starting zone they made it to level 3! Ridiculous. After a while switching  between screens looting things became pretty dull so I decided instances were the way to go. Using the help of a friend of mine we ran through instances getting 1 or 2 levels in a run. As of now there are two brand new 60s on my account.

Another little perk is that you can grant levels to characters for every two levels gained on the second account. Remember those two 60s I have? Lets just make that 3 and call it odd…. is that how that expression goes? Doesn’t matter, moving on. I already had a 22 rogue with a lot of the BoA gear, all that was needed was 8 more levels. A few quests later and I was in the middle of Stormwind getting accused of hacking and being asked how I’ve leveled from doing nothing at all.

I’ve also starting playing my priest again, after seeing some Disc priests do their thing I’ve become inspired to join their ranks. Which means healing is in it’s future, not something that I’m known for doing. It’s 34 right now and it’s an absolute blast to play.

Ok, so first I’m just gonna apologize since this didn’t come out as soon as I said it would. It’s been a few weeks since this happened, so I’ll just sum it up real quick. We downed mimiron! It was awesome. Mimiron is quite possibly my favorite boss fight that I’ve encountered. Phase one is basically a tank and spank with the occasional run away from something mechanic and dodging landmines.  Phase 2 is really easy, just dodge the big glowy area and doge laser barrage. phase 3 is when it actually starts getting kinda diffcult. There’s a big floating head shooting stuff at your ranged tank and there are a ton of robots running around. During the fight you kill mobs called Assault Bots, these mobs drop Magnetic Cores which are used to bring the floaty head to the ground so everyone can attack it. My job is bringing the head down. Normally when I’m doing this I’ll say something pretty suggestive about it and make it funny. The fourth and final phase combines the basics of the 3 previous phases. You’re fighting all three parts of the beginning of the fight, tank from phase 1, turret from phase 2 and the head from phase 3. All 3 pieces are put together in a big voltron-esque fashion. The tricky part to this phase is getting everyone to dodge the laser barrage and the mines. Something about killing all 3 parts at around the same time, that could be tricky too. All in all mimiron is a great fight, even though we downed him, he’s still giving us some grief. Maybe we’ll finally get to General this week. Good luck Group 2!
