A good friend of mine that plays WoW with me likes to host a “Shenanigans Night” where we go do stuff from the Pre Wrath days of WoW.

The first event we did was a zerg Kara with about 6 80s and one person that was low 70s. It started with a simple question in vent “Who wants to do stupid stuff” and boom a group was formed in less than 10 seconds, and Shenanigans was born.

I may not remember who all was in the group, but I know it started with an 80 pally tank, Me, 80 Ele Shammy, 80 Shadow Priest and a druid that was lvl 72 or 73 I can’t remember.

We clear to and kill Midnight within 15 minutes of us entering laughing the  whole way at how hard it used to be when kara was serious business. The trash in Moroes’ room was entertaining, in Kara at lvl is was basically suicide to pull the skeletal waiters and the guys who get you drunk. But at 80, it’s all sorts of fun. The traditional AoE everything down effect put moroes down before he knew what hit him. Maiden died before she could use repentance, nuff said.

Our shadow priest got the surefooted and mongoose enchant before we got to Opera, as they dropped we remembered on how rare they were and basically laughed at how lucky he was. The opera event itself was all sorts of funny, we got Oz. Everything died before the next mob became active, aside from tinman, he lasted the longest. Ele Shammy got the witches hat for looks. As we were doing the money pulls, we realized how much they nerfed the amount of gold that drops from them, it was sort of a downer, but oh well.

Nightbane. Good old Nightbane. Now before I start on this, I mentioned to my friends in vent that we should kill him while in the air. What happens during the fight, made it all it was ever meant to be. The fight starts off pretty basic, tank and spank while his health melts away faster than an ice cube in hot water. Then he gets into the air. Since our plan was to kill him while he was flying, the shadow priest and ele shammy kept up the damage while myself and the tank were handling the skeleton adds. The best part of this fight was that our plan worked too well. Night bane never landed. The dps from the shammy and priest was too much for him, Nightbane’s health paused at 1 hp while hovering in the air. I was lucky enough to get the killing blow with a well times moonfire.

The rest of the instance went by just as fast as the beginning of it. Shade was a joke (I hope you weren’t expecting me to say it was hard) and yet another rare kara enchant drops to the priest, 3/4 is a good ratio I’d say. We were beginning to think that the rare drops weren’t so rare anymore but we didn’t care. Netherspite was a fight focused on our ele shammy. While he was in blue beam, if I remember right, he did almost 7k dps. Netherspite didn’t make it to a 2nd beam phase. Now our plan for Prince was to kill him before an infernal dropped, sadly we didn’t get that to happen, but a 2nd infernal was never found.

At the end of the raid our Priest got all 4 of the rare enchants to which he said “hmm, I guess I should start lvling my enchanting.” laughing ensued.
